Pastor D. Sandahl,
God has given me many strengths such as being Positive, initiate and strategize new approaches and a drive to achieve them. With these gifts I have been successful in multiple careers. Beginning with my work career in health care, where I was a Long Term Care Administrator for 14 years building new facilities from scratch. From health care, I took a huge leap into creating a bookstore in Hastings, Just Thinking… and surviving for 13 years in a very tough field. During that time God seemed to use me in creating social programs, focusing on religious materials and literally making me sit still and listen to everyone that came in. Great preparation for becoming a Pastor?
Other factors that influenced my current calling was ‘hitting bottom’ in alcoholism and finding the 12 step program of AA. This gave me the strongest platform of faith, knowing I could not, God could …if I let God.
God did not want me on this journey alone so God introduced Harvey into my life to be my companion in this long journey (married 45 years). Neither one of us is sure of how that happened. Together we have raised 3 children and now enjoy the interaction with our two grandchildren every week. We have been truly fortunate to have the pleasure of a home in Hastings, MN and a cabin near Cumberland which are the hometowns of my parents. Small world!
For excitement, we have traveled all over, which we always like to share so please ask us about it. In addition, my love of books is strong so I belong to 2 book clubs and am interested in what you are currently reading. Stop by and visit any Monday or Tuesday so I get to know YOU better.
